So that we can observe one of the most unique birds on the island of São Miguel, the priolo, in its period of greatest activity, we depart early from Ponta Delgada towards the Northeast area. Serra da Tronqueira is one of the last and most important centers of native vegetation in São Miguel, which is home to a group of this very peculiar species.
After a picnic lunch break, we head towards Vila da Povoação where we can observe different birds, including seagulls, tern, waders and herons. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, the journey will be made along the south coast of the island, crossing in the village of Furnas where we will make a brief stop to observe different species of birds of Holarctic origin.
