Leaving Funchal towards Pico do Arieiro, we will pass by several higher points where you can see Funchal, in the middle of the forest, sometimes taking the regional paths, known as Caminhos Reais, to enjoy the magic of nature. Continuing on and up to 1000m of altitude, we will see pine trees and firs, dominant vegetation that will transport you to magical and invigorating landscapes, along the Casa de Abrigo do Poiso, already at 1400m of altitude. Arriving at Pico do Arieiro, you will have the privilege of witnessing some of the most breathtaking views you will ever see.
We continue to the village of Ribeiro Ribeiro, which is located in the Laurissilva Forest and where you can enjoy the Levada dos Balcões. Continuing through the interior, we will find some vestiges of other times, testifying to the hard life of yesteryear. Experiences will continue to happen throughout the tour, with emphasis on the surprise of our track, which will take us to the emblematic city of Santana, where we will stop for lunch.
On the way back to Funchal, we will also enjoy a pleasant tour along the east coast of the island, stopping at the Guindaste viewpoint for unforgettable photographs. Afterwards, we will head to the village of Porto da Cruz, where you will visit a Rum Factory known as Engenho do Norte, where we will have a local rum tasting.
Ponta de São Lourenço will be our last stop of the day, before reaching Funchal, where both the sea and mountain views will represent the icing on the cake.
