Upon arriving to Gerês, our trip will go across paths along the mountain, where you will have the opportunity to observe ghost villages and wild animals that inhabit there, among horses and sheep. Along the way, you can visit viewpoints between dams that will allow you to soak up the green valleys of the mountain in the best way. There will also be time for a ride in a horse-drawn carriage.

During lunch you will enjoy dishes made with fresh regional products of the highest quality. This break allows you to enjoy the mountain air in complete tranquility.

After the meal, a visit to the Sanctuary of São Bento da Porta Aberta is a mandatory stop, being the second most important pilgrimage site in Portugal, after Fátima. Every year it attracts 2.5 million faithful! Get ready for the incredible view.

To end the day, there will still be time to enjoy a cocktail made using natural and local ingredients and where the landscape surrounding will be the protagonist of this wonderful evening.

Meet the Itinerary

Geres

Parque Nacional Peneda-Gerês

Part of the trip will be the unique opportunity to enjoy a horseback ride through the Gerês national park. Take the time to discover more about this place with campsites, pedestrian trails and prehistoric remains.

São Bento da Porta Aberta

Mandatory stop on this itinerary. This Sanctuary is the second most important in the country and attracts thousands of visitors every year. We will visit the interior of the church and all its history.

Deposits are non-refundable. To get a refund, you must cancel at least 48 hours before the experience start time. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the experience start time, the amount paid will not be refunded. Any changes made less than 48 hours before the experience start time will not be accepted. Cut-off times are based on the experience's local time. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If canceled because the minimum was not met, you will receive a different date/experience or a full refund.
